Lee Michaels is a luxury jewelry company with an outstanding reputation for personal customer service and satisfaction. Their previous website had begun to look outdated and did not accurately reflect the esteemed Lee Michaels brand. It was also not mobile-responsive, even though the majority of their web traffic came from mobile devices. As a result, internet sales numbers suffered. They wanted the website to drive customers to make purchases online or better yet, to get them into a Lee Michaels store to form personal relationships with the sales associates. Beginning with information architecture, our designers worked closely with the Lee Michaels team to streamline the content and simplify the website navigation as much as possible while providing an easy user flow from browsing items through making a purchase. Next, our designers focused on elegant typography, a modular layout, and beautiful imagery to give the website a high-end, luxurious look and feel; all while keeping the focus on the Lee Michaels brand. Our developers rose to the challenge of building the design into the robust Magento eCommerce platform to allow for content management.
Lee Michaels wanted to keep their existing point of sale system, so we built a custom integration so it could connect to the new website in real time. Product and inventory management was integrated into the product purchase process and the product import process—both custom-built. The import process takes inventory levels into account to determine which products to show, and the sales process integrates with their existing system that tracks their inventory counts.
Envoc delivered a modern website design with high-end appeal and a thoughtful user experience to make it easy for customers to shop, find the perfect item, and check out no matter which device they’re on. Not only that, but they can easily find the nearest Lee Michaels location and arrange for an appointment with an associate should they choose to shop in person. Lee Michaels can manage all products on the Magento eCommerce platform and make updates to the homepage to announce current promotions or highlight one of their brands. The results so far are promising—Lee Michaels more than doubled their online sales this past Mother’s Day and expect to see this sales volume increase as a trend!
